Green Folder
Each student will be given a green "Go Home Folder." The folder is an important tool to teach organizational skills. Part of our morning routine is to copy the homework from the whiteboard and write down any due assignments in the student planner found inside the green folder. The Go Home Folder is the student's responsibility and students are expected to take the initiative to copy the homework from the board each day.
The folder will be used each year in the lower school in order to encourage organization and responsibility. Learning to manage assignments and due dates is a skill that will be very helpful as the students journey into the middle school.
Students will be given a ticket for our raffle if they remember to bring their folder and keep track of homework by copying it into their folder each day.
I do not require parents to sign or initial the planner. However, if I have written a message about behavior or missing work, the student will be expected to show a parent the note and ask them to sign the page so that I know the message was received.
