September 11-September 14
This week, the fourth graders decorated their writing notebooks with pictures that were important to them. It was so much fun sharing our experiences and interests with each other. We are building a strong community!
Dates To Remember
9/19- No School
9/24-9/28- Leadership Week
10/19- Pumpkin Carving
Beginning Monday, all fourth graders will have reading homework every night, Monday through Thursday. Students should read their "just right" goal book for 30 minutes each night, then write a brief summary about what they read. Students will use their reading notebook to log in & out and write a summary, each time they read. Please help your child to remember to bring their GREEN FOLDER, READING NOTEBOOK, and GOAL BOOK to and from school EVERYDAY!!!!
This week we began our reading challenge! Students have all picked out books that are just right and are setting weekly goals. Students are reading for 20 minutes in class and are expected to read for 30 minutes every evening. Becoming a strong reader takes lots of practice! As readers, we are also THINKERS! Each time we read, we think about what we have read and record it in writing in our reading notebooks.
